Windows XP (SP2) – Die Registry gründlichst optimieren und defragmentieren

The Windows Registry is a central component of Windows XP: If it is overloaded, faulty or confused (fragmented), not only the system startup but also applications are slowed down. With the following tools you can remedy this and optimize the access time to the registry:

RegClean, Registry Mechanic und Co. – die besten Registry-Tools

1. Download Microsoft's orphaned RegClean 4.1a tool. It removes a large number of unnecessary keys and values. Start it from the downloaded file and, after the analysis process, select Fix Errors.

2. Install yourself Registry Mechanic for a much more thorough cleaning of the registry. After you have started the program, the automatic scan appears. Now click on Repairto solve all registry problems and create space.

3. Thanks to all the deletion and reorganization operations, your registry fragments very easily, which can again lead to a loss of speed and various startup problems. We therefore recommend WinASO RegDefrag 1.2. Click Next after the program has started and confirm with Defrag now. Even on a new test machine, we were able to detect a fragmentation of 11%, which already led to a slight impairment of performance.

We hope that these three tools will grow on you and become your main tools for maintaining the registry. There are truly hundreds of similar applications, but our tests have shown that the combination of these three tools is one of the most effective and safest ways.
