Windows XP Service Pack 1 – Die alten SP1 Backupdateien löschen

Microsoft's latest product update called SP1 promises, according to Microsoft, to significantly improve stability and speed as well as minimize bugs in Windows XP. If you are happy with the service pack after installation, you can now delete this backup completely from your hard disk, as it contains a whopping 135 Megabyte consumed.

This backup, i.e. the restore, restores the original state before SP1 if desired, which is only necessary if you have detected errors. How to delete the backup:

Delete superfluous backup files

1. Double-click on Workplace and click here on your Windows drive, e.g. C:\

2. Now open your Windows folder and delete the directory named $NtServicePackUninstall$.

You now have some free memory available again, which you can use more sensibly.
