In addition to the many design changes that Windows XP has to offer, the user is also presented with a completely redesigned Start menu. Recently used programs are arranged in the left-hand column, standard Windows folders such as My Documents or Control Panel can be found on the right.
If you don't like this new start menu, you can go back to the Win95/NT/98/ME/2K roots.
1. Right-click on a free area of the taskbar. From the menu that pops up, select Properties.
2. Now select the tab Start menuselect the option Classic start menu and click on Ok.

If you want to switch to Start click, the good old start menu appears.
