After you have cleaned up the System File Protection folder as described in this trick, you can now limit it to a certain size for the future. I recommend a maximum size of 100 MB.

Click one after the other on Start > Execute and type it into the command line sfc /cachesize=100 in. After clicking Enter, the limit for this folder is set and you no longer need to worry about precious storage space.
