Er kann in Sachen Übersichtlichkeit überzeugen: Beim Design passt sich die App an den Minimalismus von Windows Phone an, was keinesfalls selbstverständlich ist. Damit lassen sich auch unterwegs Daten gut verwalten. Bei der Bedienung erlaubten sich die Entwickler allerdings einen kleinen Fauxpas: Mit dem „Zurück“-Button springen Sie nicht eine Ordnerebene zurück, sondern verlassen den File Manager. Um in die übergeordnete Ebene zu wechseln, wurde extra eine weitere Schaltfläche integriert – und mit einer Wischgeste von rechts nach links lässt sich übrigens derselbe Schritt ausführen.

Normally, mobile operating systems require a separate client for this data. Pocket File Manager not only eliminates the need for this additional app, it also enables integration into the normal folder structure. The setup is very simple: after selecting the cloud service, simply log in with your account. If, for example, you have set up a NAS server for data storage and transfer your files via the FTP protocol, the Pocket File Manager can also help and integration is also possible. However, the basic functions such as cutting, unpacking or packing as well as deleting or renaming files are a matter of course.
Conclusion: Solid file manager
The Pocket File Manager does its job well: it offers all the functions expected of a file manager and even allows the integration of cloud services and FTP servers. The design and clarity are also pleasing. The fact that the "Back" button closes the program is probably only a problem in the first few days. Then you get used to switching to the next higher level with a swipe gesture.
