If you have difficulties dialing into the Internet, this could be due to the so-called timeout. This is because it interrupts the dial-up after a certain time, although a connection might have been possible a short time later. To deactivate this timeout completely, you must carry out the following steps.

Tips for a stable Internet connection

1. Klicken sie nacheinander auf „Start“ > „Execute“ und tippen sie in die Befehlszeile „regedit“ gefolgt von Enter ein.

2. Hangeln sie sich durch die Schlüssel „HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Net\0001“ und doppelklicken sie im rechten Teilfenster auf den Wert „Slownet„.

3. Es erscheint eine Zeile mit dem Inhalt „0000  01„. Löschen sie nun das „01“ und tragen stattdessen eine „0“ hinein, sodass der Eintrag nun „0000  00“ lautet.
