Windows 2000 – Rechtsklick auf „.exe“ führt zum Absturz des Desktops

Ein Programm, ein Tool, ein Virus…Ursachen für diesen Fehler mag es viele geben, doch das Resultat ist immer dasselbe: Bei einem Rechtsklick auf eine .exe-Datei verschwindet der Desktop, bzw. es kommt zu einem Absturz der explorer.exe, und wird dann wieder neu geladen. Die ersten Schritte der Problemlösung sollten definitiv in Richtung Deinstallation von Anwendungen, die sich ins Kontextmenü verankern, gehen.

1. Open the Registrationseditor by clicking on Start/Execute click and regedit type in. Confirm with OK opens the tool.

2. Navigate to the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex and click on Export registration/registration fileto save the entire key. To do this, enter a concise file name, such as Sicherung – Kontextmenü-Verankerung.reg and confirm with Save. You can now perform a restore by double-clicking in the event of problems.

3. Select the subkey ContextMenuHandlers and press Removalto delete it.

Starten Sie nun Ihren Rechner neu und versuchen Sie den Rechtsklick – da nun alle externen Verankerungen gelöst wurden wird der Absturz nicht mehr auftreten.
