Windows 2000 – Die aufklappenden Infoboxen abschalten

If you move the mouse pointer over an icon on the desktop, in My Computer or in the Control Panel, for example, a yellow box will appear shortly afterwards displaying brief information about it. For example, if you hover over

and wait approx. 1 second, the following box appears above it.

You can also use these tips if they bother you. And this is how they proceed:

1. Click one after the other on Start and type it into the command line regedit followed by Enter. The program for editing the Windows registry.

2. Move through the folder-like keys called HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ Advanced and click in the right part of the program on the entry ShowInfoTip and enter the value in the pop-up window 0 inside.

3. After they have been OK confirmed and restarted Windows, you are rid of the info boxes.
