Windows 2000 – Die Adressleiste ist urplötzlich verschwunden (Explorer, Internet Explorer)

The address bar, which shows the path to folders/files or domains/URLs, is suddenly missing in both Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer. The view cannot be restored by conventional means (e.g. via folder options/view or right-click and ). Proceed as follows to solve this problem:

1. Click in succession on Start/Execute and enter regedit in. Now expand the key path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\.

2. Delete the following in the subkeys Explorer, ShellBrowser and WebBrowser in the right-hand pane the value ITBarLayoutclose the registry editor and restart Windows.

The problem should then no longer exist!
