Die Symbole auf dem Desktop, im Explorer oder im Startmenü werden alle in einem bestimmten Teil des Arbeitsspeichers gelagert. Dieser Teil wird Iconcache genannt und kann auch durch seine limitierte Größe (er fasst insgesamt 500 Icons) durcheinandergeraten – es werden dann Icons überschrieben und verschoben.
