Would you like to find files, folders, e-mails or contacts much faster on your computer with Windows XP or Vista? Windows Search 4!
This indexed search is already integrated in Windows Vista, but it will be significantly improved with Windows Search 4. Microsoft promises around 30% faster searches and better search results for emails. If you want to speed up your search function, we recommend using the new Windows Search 4:
- Download Windows Search 4 for Windows XP 32-Bit
- Download Windows Search 4 for Windows XP 64-bit
- Download Windows Search 4 for Windows Vista 32-bit
- Download Windows Search 4 for Windows Vista 64-bit
Installing the new search function couldn't be easier: After you have transferred the file to the desktop, double-click on the downloaded file, for example:
Follow the instructions on the screen and then restart the computer.
A bit annoying: All files on your computer have to be added again under Windows Vista, which can take several hours. Windows Vista stops this so-called indexing every time you work on your computer so as not to slow down your working speed. For this reason, the search results are incomplete on the first day of Windows Search installation! To find out when indexing is complete: Click on

. Here you can see how many files are already indexed.
If this number no longer increases, indexing is complete!
