PCmover mit Windows XP: Seit dem 8. April 2014 ist der Support von Windows XP beendet. Microsoft will Nutzern den Wechsel auf ein modernes Betriebssystem einfach machen – und stellt deshalb das Programm „PCmover“ bereit. Das soll den reibungslosen Wechsel garantieren.

Anyone who updates their operating system is making a digital move. Windows XP users cannot permanently escape this fate. Security updates are a thing of the past, Microsoft no longer delivers anything. But a free tool helps to take everything with you into a new environment: PCmover can be downloaded here and promises to minimize the effort involved in changing.

Behind the tool is the company Laplink, whose developers proudly announce that PCmover is the only software to offer such comprehensive XP replacement assistance. Microsoft recommends it highly officially.

PCMover takes all Windows XP content with it to Windows 7 or 8: music, videos, e-mails, documents, user profiles and even system settings. All free of charge. The paid Pro version even transfers installed programs.

Many Windows XP users will move to Windows 7 with PCMover, as the system has a similar user interface and working environment to XP. However, you should ask yourself whether you should upgrade to the latest generation of Windows right away. Because: Windows 8 can now be designed in a similar way to 7.
