Improve font display in Windows 7

LCD screen users in particular benefit from ClearType text, as it improves the typeface considerably. However, while the settings under Windows Vista were still somewhat meagre, this has been improved in Windows 7.

To improve the typeface, you are now supported by an assistant. You can access this via Start -> „cttune“ (enter in the search field). The wizard will then guide you through several steps. Among other things, you can choose which display appears best for you.

If you have a larger LCD screen, you can also easily perform screen color calibration. To do this, enter the following in the search field in the start menu „dccw“ in.
You will then be guided again by a wizard that supports you with several settings such as gamma correction or brightness.

Eine kleine Bemerkung am Rande: Windows 7 bringt auch auch eine neue Schriftart namens „Gabriola“ mit. Diese setzt auf neue Technologien auf (OpenType, DirectWrite).
We would be delighted if you could share your impressions with us in our Forum share!

Sincerely,
Raimund Machacek
