- Anschließend müssen Sie nur noch den letzten Punkt deaktivieren: „Ich möchte zur Verbesserung des Windows Store beitragen, indem ich URLs zu den Webinhalten sende, auf die meine Apps zugreifen.“ Dieser Punkt ist standardmäßig aktiviert.
- Bei der Nutzung des Betriebssystems auf einem PC können Sie zusätzlich den obersten Punkt ausschalten: „Ich bin einverstanden, dass Apps auf meinen Standort zugreifen.“
Local user account instead of Microsoft account
Logging in to Windows 8 requires a Windows ID, for example a Hotmail address. This allows you to connect to the Microsoft cloud, but also to collect data. You can prevent this by creating a local user account afterwards and using the operating system with it:
- Rufen Sie die Charms-Bar auf und wählen Sie dort „PC-Einstellungen ändern“.

The various Windows 8 usage statistics are likely to displease all users who want to control their own data. If you want to avoid this data collection, you must follow the tips listed above. However, you should bear in mind that these will reduce convenience. For example, if you change the app settings, a weather app can no longer automatically determine your location.
