Windows Me – Den Ordner „Links“ der Favoriten komplett bannen

1. Scroll through the favorites, which can be found under C:\WINDOWS\Favorites are located.

2. Now delete the folder Linkswhich is located in the Favorites is located. At the top of the menu bar, click on Extras/Folder optionsn and switch to the tab View. Deactivate the Hide extension for known file types feature and confirm with OK to confirm the changes.

We have thus arranged for the file extensions to be visible so that we can create a placeholder file without a file extension, which can be used to automatically create the folder Links prevented.

3. Now click in the folder Favorites with the right mouse button on a free area and select New/text document. Remove the .txt at the end and name it Links. Click on another free space and confirm the warning message that the file will then become unusable with a Yes.

4. now click on the empty file with the right mouse button Links and select Propertieswhich are offered by the context menu that pops up. Here you now select Read-only and Hidden and confirm with OK.

After you have restarted your computer, you will notice that Links does not return. You can repeat this with any folder in the favorites or in other areas. I hope you enjoyed this little trick.
