If you leave your computer unattended for a long time, you will probably have set up a screen saver that switches on after approx. 10 minutes.

In this case, a password protects you quite well from prying eyes. But what if you have misplaced this password and still want to continue using the screensaver? In the Registry hides your password:
1. Click in succession on Start/Execute and enter the command regedit in.

2. Now shimmy through the keys HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop and delete the value ScreenSave_Data.

3. After you have restarted Windows, the screen saver is password-free and you are free to enter a new one.
