Thanks to the previous tips, you have already set up your Internet connection via modem or ISDN perfectly. Now all you have to do is choose the right provider and connect via your Internet connection. In most cases, magazines such as CHIP or ComputerBILD will help you find the right provider. In many cases, the user name and password are also included. On the other hand, you can register with a large provider, who will then send you this data conveniently by post.
And this is how you use them:
1. Click on Dial-up Networking in the Control Panel and immediately select Create new connection.
2. Now enter any name you like in the line Enter the name for the selected computer and select only your already installed modem/ISDN device under Device.
3. After you have clicked on Next, all you have to do is enter your provider's telephone number and click on Next again.
4. Click on Finish to apply all settings and generate a new icon, which you can use immediately for the connection.
5. Now double-click on it and enter the respective data you received from your provider under User name and Password and click on Connect. If everything went well, you are online for the first time.
