Windows 2000 – Mit dem Media Player DVD Filme genießen

The conventional Windows Media Player plays all forms of audio and video files, but one very important source cannot be accessed: The DVD. It is impossible to watch DVD videos with the player in the conventional way, which is why you have to dig deep into the heart of Windows:

1. In the Start menu, click on Execute. A dialog appears in which you can regedit enter.

2. Take a look at the following branches of theWindows registration: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings. Right-click in the right-hand pane and select New/string. You give this self-created value the name EnableDVDUI.

3. Now double-click on it and enter Yes inside. You now have a new function, which is called Open DVD scolds. From this moment on you are allowed to enjoy DVD movies with the media player. It is important to note that this trick only works if you already have a software DVD player (and do not want to use it).
