Windows 2000 – Das ZIP Laufwerk wird nicht automatisch erkannt?

If you are still in possession of an older Zip drive with a parallel port connection and it is not recognized by Windows 2000, you must first make it clear to the operating system that it is a so-called legacy device. To do this, proceed as follows:

1. Click with the right mouse button on Workplace and select from the context menu Properties.

2. In the following window, click on Hardware and open the Device manager.

First double-click on Connection and then to Printer connection. Under the menu item Connection settings you will find the option below to activate legacy detection for Plug & Play.

Check the box in front of it and restart your PC with the Zip drive switched on. After a restart it will be where it belongs:
