Windows 2000 – Den Internet Explorer Backupordner löschen

When you install a new version of Internet Explorer, a folder is created on request in which the files of the old Explorer are located. There are also remnants of the old IE in the Windows registry, which is why I recommend deleting the old backup folder and its associated registry entries to completely clean up any Windows 98 system.

And this is how you proceed:

1. Click in succession on Start > Settings > System control and select Software.

2. A list appears in which you can find Internet Explorer and double-click on it.

3. In the next selection dialog, decide on Extended. Mark here Delete the backup information for Internet Explorer and confirm with OK.

4. The message that appears after you click on OK appears, confirm with Yes. After this, you can no longer delete or repair Internet Explorer.
