Windows XP – Inhalte von Ordnern als Bilder anzeigen

Windows XP offers the really ingenious feature of displaying the contents of folders as a small picture so that you know exactly what is in this folder. If the folder already contains images, XP always takes the latest 4 and displays them as content:

However, if you only want to take one picture of it, you must do the following:

1. Click on this folder with the right mouse button and select Properties. Now switch to the tab Customize.

2. Now press the button Bild auswählen… and assign them to a desired image.

In order for images to be displayed in folders, they must be assigned to the
directory in which the folder is located to View and then to Thumbnail view.
